The first of the two waterfalls on the Keelung River (Shifen Waterfall, a few kilometres downstream, is Taiwan’s widest waterfall), Lingjiao is much less touristy than the more famous waterfall below, and after a typhoon is of similar size and almost as impressive.

The waterfall lies just a few minutes from Lingjiao railway station. Follow the tracks towards Shifen for a couple of minutes and walk through the old gate on the right. A concrete path zigzags to the base of the falls, while a dirt trail forking off on the right near the top leads to the top of the falls.
